Restoration prospect pipes Sint-Rombouts Cathedral Mechelen awarded to Rens Swart
18 October 2018
Rens Swart Orgelbouw has been commissioned by the Province of Antwerp to restore the sagging front pipes of the organ of the Sint-Rombouts (Saint Romuldus) Cathedral in Mechelen (Belgium). The 16' organ pipes in Mechelen have been struggling with collapsing feet and labia for years. Stinkens organ pipe makers will rectify the collapsed feet and supply them with a copper insert to carry the weight of the pipe. The restoration will be complete at Easter 2019.
